Ramanan Residence at Pollachi

This sprawling Residence is nestled amidst a coconut farm on one side and a flowing perennial river on the other. Which made this a very challenging project to design a fitting landscape for this super serene setting. We designed keeping in mind the amazing setting and worked to keep details to a minimum and make sure the existing landscape setting wasn’t disturbed too much. The Landscape design features a therukuttu Ganesha as one of the main design features. It is designed at the end of a 700′ driveway which has a feature wall on one end. The Ganesh Statue was designed to be a happy reclining one keeping in mind the setting of the property. It is flanked by vertical granite slabs on either side to give it a sense of place within this larger landscape setting. The granite slabs were handpicked to match the architectural colour scheme of the house. They have been specially picked, Machine-cut & set in place. The Residence also features specially designed granite pavers with grass inlay for the driveway in muted colours and adds the perfect foreground for the villa elevational details. The softscaping is done intensively around the entrance and the front areas keeping the colour scheme of the project in mind while designing. The project also features a Gazebo, naturally cut stone steps & entrance gate detailing amongst the other completed details for the project. The landscape features range from simple landscaped mounds to extensively designed pergola details which have a built-in seater and brass detailing adding to the richness of the open space design.
The landscape at Pollachi is play of textures & colours. The vibrancy of the surrounding ensures that the landscape is subtle but effective in its effect.
The bare site features no noticeable features but the la escape draws your attention towards the exterior elevation along details. The exterior granite pavers with grass provides the perfect setting to house the residence and give it the views to frame. The central Roundabout features ensure we did not lose any trees through the design. We have managed to save all the trees on-site ensuring we do justice to this beautiful residential setting. We have also ensured to safely transplant trees which would have been removed/cut down otherwise. It has now been moved to a safe distance we’re it would never meet the axe. The peripheral planting was done keeping in mind the access routes & ensuing privacy to the residents of the property during late evenings & nights where the road visibility is very high.
